Terntank Rederi AS was awarded with the Shipowner Efficiency Award for the pioneering use of LNG fuel in the tanker industry at the Marine Propulsion Awards, in London 15 April 2015. The awards ceremony was conducted at the Annual Marine Propulsion & Auxiliary Machinery conference.
The pioneering work with new LNG fueled ships receive wide attention. When the journal Tanker Shipping & Trade issued the annual list "Tanker Shipping & Trade Industry Leaders 2015” one of the shipowners at Terntank, Tryggve Möller, got a position among the 50 most influential people in the tanker industry today.
Terntank Rederi AS is nominated for Marine Propulsion & Auxiliary Machinery Shipowner Efficiency Award. The Marine Propulsion Awards will be held in London on 15 April 2015 and the winner will be selected by the jury and the voters. Voting close on Tuesday 31 March.
The Swedish government approves applications for co-funding of maritime projects to EU TEN-T program. Among others one of the approved application is for the project Solution4Future. This project is initiated by JIP LNG4Solution and is the sequel to the previously granted Baltic SO2lution project.
During the Motorways of the Sea Conference in Gothenburg it was revealed that the Commission has reserved a co-funding of 3.6 million Euro to the Project Baltic SO2lution, initiated by the JIP LNG4Solution (previously known as JIP Baltic SO2lution). It is a cooperation between Terntank, Wärtsilä, North European Oil Trade (NEOT) and Wega Enviro. This to support their action to introduce a new two-stroke dual-fuel engine to the market and to minimise air emissions in the supply chain of petroleum products in the Baltic Sea.
Terntank proclaims its options on two sister ships to the two LNG powered product tankers ordered in the autumn of 2013. The oil company NEOT also confirmed that they are taking in two of these on time charter.
